Paso del Norte Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2015 with the support of our sister foundation Paso del Norte Health Foundation. We were born with the mission of generating alliances and initiatives that improve the quality of life in Ciudad Juárez and we operate with an unwavering commitment to the well-being and development of our community. Since our beginning of operations, the Foundation has dedicated its efforts to seeking and generating resources and alliances to invest in projects in the areas of health, education, community development, violence prevention, childhood, leadership and strengthening of the social sector.

In 10 years, we have mobilized more than 150 million pesos and supported nearly 80 civil society organizations in their initiatives and projects. We have forged collaborative alliances with networks and organizations at the local, national, and international levels. In addition to allocating our resources to grants to other CSOs, we also operate projects and programs with community impact, some of which are already well-known in the community and the social sector, such as Reto, Juárez en Acción, REALIZE, Juárez Giving Day, and MyMachine.

Why carry out this campaign?

At the heart of our initiatives is a commitment to improving the quality of life for all of us who live in Ciudad Juárez, and this is a shared mission.

We all play a role in the development of our communities.

Juárez en Acción was born from the conviction that every good deed, large or small, has a positive and multiplying effect on Ciudad Juárez. The idea was simple: to invite the entire community to do positive things for Juárez for one month a year. This way, we would promote volunteerism and social action for the benefit of our community by recording and tracking the campaign through our platform, which organizes and geolocates the actions carried out during Juárez en Acción.

The first time we carried out this campaign 10 years ago, more than 2,000 people participated; and last year, more than 19,000 Juarez residents took part. Thanks to the participation of individuals, schools, organizations, businesses, and collectives, this campaign has become the largest volunteer and social action movement in Chihuahua.
